Magnet Program

Fountaindale Elementary School magnet students learn to “create, collaborate, and challenge the status quo” as they build individual strengths and talents, working through the curriculum at an in depth and/or accelerated pace that is one to two years above grade level. Students engage in vertical learning experiences, allowing them to collaborate with peers based on common interests and abilities. Students create meaning as they explore the arts through individual experiences and learning processes, including visual arts, movement, and music, making connections to broaden and enhance their understanding of academic content and concepts. Learning comes to life through our school’s on campus Outdoor Learning Lab and S.T.E.A.M. instruction, which integrates science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics.

The magnet program consists of one self-contained classroom in grades two through five.  Students that are not part of the magnet program, but still qualify for enrichment, have the opportunity for GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) lessons on a regular basis.
